These are the major teething challenges of existing 1st & 2nd generation technologies in Biofuels sector.
With second generation technologies having edge over the existing one but highly capital intensive and technology starved, need larger attention and exploration. CII National Committee on Biofuels, consisting of Multi Stakeholders from all across the sector (Industry policy makers, experts & financial Institutional) is working to mainstream the Biofuels in Indian Energy sector with a special focus on niche 1st generation & 2nd generation technologies, opening up of investment opportunities through commercially viable business model in effective Public Private Partnership (PPP) environment.
